It also reminds us that like the Israelites who are obliged to follow the commandments of God, we too are obliged to follow the commandments as well as the precepts of the Church.

Presentation of the lesson

The teacher can start the class presenting a story from the chapter. The Israelites urged Aaron to make a golden calf as god for them to worship. And they worshipped it singing and dancing. And finally, Moses gets angry on them after returning from the Mountain. The story should highlight the gravity of the disobedience that they had towards ever-loving, all-providing God. Presentthe idol worship as the greatest sin of the Israelites. Explaining the gravity of sin, the need for punishment, and way of resolution teacher can enter into the chapter.
