Chapter Context

This chapter narrates the feasts of the Israelites, feasts of the Church, and the specialties of each feast. It helps to understand the meaning and message of each feast. Every celebration becomes meaningful only when it’s celebrated imbibing its essence and meaning. In that way this chapter will help children to participate in feasts getting the core of it.

- It helps one to grow spiritually when it is celebrated understanding the true meaning of it.

Palm lets of different feasts, pictures of saints, Holy Bible
Presentation of the lesson

Have a brief discussion on the parish feast. Do you like feast? If yes why? Ask them to say out the important features of feast. The festal programs (Solemn Holy Qurbana, ladeenju, homily and benediction), procession, fire works, cultural programs, toy sellers, ice cream, guests at home, delicious food etc. ask them which of these do they like most and the why of it. Teacher can contribute his/her own views too.

How many festivals are known to you?

Ask them to write down maximum name of the feasts they know within a given time. Those written more names may be awarded. Teacher may take extra care to give an explanation on the feasts written by them.
Let us collect

Ask them to collect the palm lets on various feasts. Give every one opportunity to read and watch the variety of notices they have brought. Make them understand that in every notice, what is common is the holy rituals than the external celebrations.
