Glory To God In The Highest

Chapter Context

The purpose of this lesson is to present the birth of the Savior Jesus and its circumstances. The birth of the Savior was not in royal palaces or bell towers. The Son of God was born in a stable. This lesson gives us the message that He also invites us to acquire the virtue of humility and simplicity.

Teacher's Guide

  1. Conviction

    - Jesus the Saviour was born in a manger in Bethlehem.
    - The birthday of Jesus is celebrated as Christmas on 25th December.
  2. Attitude

    - If we want to see Jesus the Saviour of humanity, we must be humble like the shepherds
    - We must live a humble life like Jesus who was born in a manger.
  3. Habit

    - We must praise Jesus through prayers, songs and ejaculation.
    - Help orphan children – Pray for them.
    - In the 25 days of abstinence before Christmas make small sacrifices (Avoiding chocolates, etc).


  4. Teaching aids

    - Holy Bible, Christmas cards, Map, Pictures of celebration of Christmas, Christmas songs, etc.

  5. Presentation of the lesson

    Let children share their birthday celebrations, birthday, place of birth etc. From their life experiences connect to the details of the birth of Jesus. Students should understand the details and circumstances of the birth of Jesus. Example of humility.
  1. Let us sing, Let us pray

    (Check the guidelines given in previous chapters)
  2. Write repeatedly with colours

    Use different colours.
  3. Flower bed for baby Jesus

    This activity is to encourage children to say the holy chant. Even after completing the flower-bed, children should make it a habit to repeat the ejaculation. Proper instructions and encouragement should be given for the same.

    2. Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace to men who enjoy His favour.

  1. Can you complete the story?

    Divide children into groups.
    Present the incident of birth of Jesus as a story. A student from one group begins the story. The next student from the group continues the story. Each one tells 2-3 sentences. Thus together as a group completes the story. Then the next group should be given the chance.
  2. Christmas carols and cards.

    Encourage students to find Christmas songs and present them in next class.
    Also instruct them to make Christmas cards. It can be displayed in class.
