Class 2 : GOD THE SAVIOUR

God Who Promises The Saviour

Chapter Context

God who promises a savior describes the incident of God expelling the man who committed sin from the Garden of Eden, the miseries caused by it, God showing mercy to them, and offering salvation to them. This lesson also includes the message that even if you fall into sin, there are possibilities of coming to the experience of salvation depending on God's mercy.

Teacher's Guide

  1. Conviction

    - The first parents, who were expelled from Paradise, had to go through lots of sufferings.
    - God who felt compassionate towards them, promised them a Saviour. God came in search of them.
    - The Saviour God promised is Jesus.
  2. Attitude

    - We must try to live without sinning.
    - We should be thankful and love God who showed compassion even to sinners.
    - We should also be compassionate towards others
  3. Habit

    - Behave lovingly towards those who do wrong to you.
    - Express gratefulness to God with short prayers.
    - Carefully try to avoid doing wrong each day.

  5. Presentation of the lesson

    Give children the opportunity to share the feeling they would experience if they are expelled from their own house. In the light of that situation, present contents of the lesson. Read the Bible to them (Gen 3:23). The sufferings of our first parents – God’s compassion – Love – Promise of a Saviour. Use the equipments at appropriate times during the presentation of the lesson.
  1. Let us sing, Let us pray

    (Check the guidelines given in previous chapters)
  2. Colour the sentence repeatedly

    Give each sentence one colour each.
  3. What is in the gift box?

    You can help students to find the correct word (SAVIOUR). After finding make them write it in the gift box and in the place provided for the answer.
  4. Let us remember

    Help students to by-heart the psalm. Provide opportunity to repeat in next class.
  5. Complete the word-wheel

    Guidelines are given in the activity. Help children to select the words to complete from the word kit. Let them do this activity in the class itself.
  6. Find out the answers

    1. They had to work in the soil filled with thorns and thorny bushes. They had to work hard, sweating, for their daily food. They were not able to see God too.

    “Jesus says” ‘stand’ ‘sit’ ‘lift your hands’ ‘clap your hands’ ‘jump’………… Do not do any said actions without the words “Jesus says”.
  3. Let us find out the answers

    1. Where did Adam and Eve go for work?
    2. Why had Adam and Eve to undergo sufferings?
    3. Why did God feel compassion for them?
    4. God did not desert them. Why?
    5. How did God show mercy to them?
    6. Who is Jesus?
