Man Who Flees From God

Chapter Context

This lesson helps us to know heaven, the place where God resides, and the ways to get there. Children should realize that this worldly home is temporary and our eternal home is heaven. Through this lesson, we should give the message to the children that the virtues and virtues we earn are the means that help us enter heaven.

Teacher's Guide

  1. Conviction

    - God loved Adam and Eve very much.
    - Though Satan’s temptation, they violated God’s commands.
    - By committing sin, they moved away from God.
  2. Attitude

    - We should obey the commandments of God, who loves us.
    - We should overcome all temptations that urge us to violate the commandments.
    - We should obey our parents, teachers and elders.
  3. Habit

    - Obey your parents and elders at home
    - Follow the rules at school, church and catechism classes.
    - Try to avoid doing wrong.
  4. Teaching aids

    - Holy Bible, Charts – Made by sticking pictures

  5. Presentation of the lesson

    Children might have done small mistakes
    - Disobedience
    - Telling lies
    - Fighting
    - Stealing
    You can discuss such experiences. Allow children to share their experiences when they make mistakes.
    Fear, embarrassment, punishment
    Continue with the story of the disobedience of Adam and Eve. The pictures in the book and pictures in teacher’s collection can be used while presenting the story.

    (Check the guidelines given in previous chapters)
  2. Give different colours and write repeatedly

    Make children write using the colours they like.
  3. Complete the following

    You can help children in selecting the words. Let them use different colours.

    2. The effect of sin is that we drift away from God.
  1. Roleplay

    Divide children into groups. Narrate the scene of Adam and Eve eating the fruit. Teacher should provide required guidelines to the students. Besides the characters, let children come on stage as trees and plants as well. Presentation of the scene can be done in next class.
