Chapter Context

Here the students encounter Jesus, the King of Kings who is seated at the right hand of God, the Father in heaven. Also this lesson which elucidates the picture of the Last Judgment explains what a real Christian has to do. It helps us to teach the children how all of us who belong to the pilgrim church that moves towards the destination of heaven, should live our life in order to realize the goal of our life.

- I will help those who are backward in their studies and those who are financially poor.
- I will utilize the money that I save by my sacrifice, shall do charity for others.
- I will try to offer food lovingly to those who are hungry.
Teaching aids

A chart of Saints’ pictures, A picture of Christ the King, A picture of the Last Judgment, The Bible.
Presentation of the lesson

We shall present the lesson with the activity of “Can you identify them?” Give each group a chart of saints’ pictures and ask them to identify and write down their names. Give them a time limit. Examine what they write and congratulate the group that writes the maximum number of correct names. Talk about some of the saints and begin with the lesson. Other activities:

The Rich man and Lazaraus:

Narrate the parable of ‘The Rich Man and Lazaraus’ as in the Bible. Discuss about the last judgment of both. Also enquire about the children’s comments on these two characters.

The New Heaven and the New Earth:

Read the Book of Revelation, Chapter 21 verses 1 to 8 in the class. Discuss it in groups and let the children make a report on the theme ‘the New Heaven and the New Earth’.

Find out and sing:

Ask the students to find out and sing hymns on the Last Judgment in the class. br>
Write a letter:

Ask the children to write a letter to their most favourite saint. If the children want to get their doubts clarified (on the Last Judgment Life in Heaven etc.), let them put it in the letter to the saints.
Give thanks:

You may conclude the lesson with songs and spontaneous prayers of thanks giving. Tell the students for what all blessings they should offer their thanks.br>
