Disciples Sent By Jesus

Chapter Context

The content of this lesson is that Jesus chooses his disciples and entrusts them with his mission. Teachers should be careful to present this lesson in such a way as to make them aware of our duty to live and proclaim the word like the disciples who witnessed Jesus through the preaching of the gospel.

Teacher's Guide

  1. Conviction

    - Disciples are sent by Jesus to proclaim the Good News.
    - Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church.
    - It is our duty to proclaim Good news of Jesus.

  2. Attitudes

    - We must be obedient to Pope who is the leader of church.
    - We must proclaim good news like disciples.

  3. Habit

    - Must remember always that we are the disciples of Jesus.
    - Will pray for blessing of Holy Spirit.
    - Will witness to Jesus through our thought, word and deed.

  4. Teaching aids

    New testament, Photo of Jesus and disciples, a chart with the names of twelve disciples.

  5. Presentation of the lesson

    Show the photo of Jesus and disciples. Let the children say the names of disciples whom they know. Call a child near assuming him to be the disciple. Like this call twelve children and Jesus. Jesus blesses the disciples by keeping the hand on their heads and sends them. All the twelve go to different places of the class.
